When A 6N5906 Hour Meter Will Not Operate Correctly, Check The Electrical Supply Before A Replacement Hour Meter Is Installed{7480,1400}

Usage:

Many of the 6N5906 Hour Meters that dealers return to the factory for warranty do not have a defect. Before you remove one of these hour meters and install a replacement unit, use a volt-ohmmeter or a continuity light to check the electrical wires and/or connections and the oil pressure switch. Loose fasteners, connections with corrosion and/or bad electrical wires can be the problem instead of the hour meter.

When an hour meter is connected to a 24 volt system it will be approximately one minute before it begins to operate. Operation can be seen by the cycles of a "+" and "0" on the meter dial. Once the meter starts to operate, it will cycle at intervals of approximately 36 seconds.
