Usage:
A 5P8558 Pressure Gauge Calibrating Group is now available to check pressure gauges in your shop (Illustration 1). The group has three gauges, 160 psi (1100 kPa), 600 psi (4150 kPa) and 5000 psi (34 500 kPa), each with an accuracy of .5%.

Illustration 2. Typical parts used with the new group.
The two lower pressure gauges are equipped with two sensor valves which give protection from too much pressure. The sensor valves shut off the pressure signal to the gauges at a preset (specific) setting.
A separate source of pressure is needed to activate the group. The 2D2825 or 5P3600 Hand Pumps can be used for this purpose.
The 5P8558 Pressure Gauge Calibrating Group is used as follows:
1. Connect a hose assembly and hand pump to the group as shown in Illustration 2.
2. Connect a nipple to the gauge you need to test and install it into the coupling assembly.
3. Activate the hand pump and make a comparison of the gauge reading to the reading of the correct gauge of the group.

Do not over pressurize the gauge being tested or the calibrating group. Maximum pressure of the 5P8558 Pressure Gauge Calibrating Group is 5000 psi (34 500 kPa).

Two 8S4600 Nipples come with the group. These permit pressure gauges with 1/4" NPT external threads to be connected to the group. Other nipples available for use are: 2S5244 Nipple (1/4" NPT external threads) and 2S5243 Nipple (1/8" NPT internal threads).
