New Seal Assembly With Longer Ferrule Prevents Damage To Ferrule During Cylinder Head Installation{1100,1101,1300}

Usage:

D8K Tractors;
583K Pipelayers;
and G342C Gas Engines

Description of Change: A seal assembly with a ferrule that is longer on one end is now used in the cylinder head groups for the above models. The longer neck of the ferrule permits more of the ferrule to be installed into the spacer plate. This makes the ferrule more rigid for better alignment with the oil passages in the cylinder head. With the former seal assembly, it was possible for the shorter ferrule to be moved out of alignment and be damaged when the cylinder head was installed. This caused a restriction and less oil flow to the upper part of the engine.

Adaptable As: The new 7N8852 Seal Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 3N9632 Seal Assembly on all earlier models shown that use a spacer plate between the cylinder head and cylinder block of the engine.

NOTE: The 7N8852 Seal Assembly will also be a part of the replacement block groups available for earlier engines without spacer plates.
