Smaller Quantity Of Oil Now Used In Engine Oil Pan; Prevents Contact Between Crankshaft And Oil{1318}

Usage:

3408 Truck Engines ( 28V)

Description of Change: A smaller quantity of lubricating oil is now used in 3408 Truck Engines, so the crankshaft will not make contact with the oil. Because of this change, use of a different oil level gauge assembly is necessary.

On the new gauge assemblies, the full mark is now equal to 44 quarts (41.6 Litres) and the low mark is equal to 37 quarts (35 Litres). On the former gauge assemblies, the full mark was equal to 48 quarts (45.4 Litres) and the low mark was equal to 39 quarts (36.9 Litres).
