Design Of Governor Control Linkage Changed; Less Force Is Needed To Move The Accelerator Pedal{1265,1269}

Usage:

3408 Truck Engine ( 28V)

Description of Change: The design of the governor control linkage has been changed so that less force is needed to move the accelerator pedal. With the new linkage, a force of 15 lb in (17.28 cmKg) of torque is needed to move the cross-shaft through 55 degrees of rotation. With the former governor control linkage, it was necessary to use a force of 20 lb in (23.04 cmKg) of torque to move the cross-shaft through 66 degrees of rotation.

Also, with the new design control linkage, there is enough clearance to connect the fuel transfer pump with a fuel line that comes from the front of the engine.

Adaptable To: The new parts, used together, are adaptable to all 3408 Truck Engines (28V).
