Modification Of Oil Pan For Installation Of Oil Sump Heater{1302}

Usage:

3208 Truck Engines

Many 3208 Truck Engines will be, or already are, equipped with oil sump heaters. These heaters are not available through Caterpillar Parts Department. There is a recommendation for the installation of an oil sump heater at a specific location to prevent contact (interference) with the pump suction bell. To prevent possible cracks or leaks on the oil pan, a boss can be installed 3.00" (76.2 mm) from the front of the oil pan and as near to the bottom as possible (see the Illustration).

NOTE: Caterpillar is not responsible for the performance and effects resulting from the use of an oil sump heater.
