SERVICE MAGAZINE, MARCH 27, 1978, PAGE 2. In the article "Improved Thrust Washers Now Used With Planet Gears", the last paragraph in the article tells you the outer diameter of the washers have black paint for easy identification. The black paint is no longer put on these washers. The part numbers on the washers must now be used for identification. Make a mark through the words "but, to make identification of the new thrust washers easy, the new thrust washers are black on the outer diameter" in the March 27 article.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: Improved thrust-washers are now used with planet gears in torque dividers, powershift transmissions, power take-offs and towing winches. The new thrust-washers have larger bend radii at the edges of the oil grooves. The larger radii make the thrust-washer stronger for longer service life.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement. The part number is on both the former and the new thrust-washers but, to make identification of the new thrust washers easy, the new thrust-washers are black on the outer diameter.
