(1) Torque for the two screws ... 2.0 ± 0.5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb in)

Note: Assemble the transformer spring with the positioning tab (2) directly above the connector for the transformer.

(3) Lubricate the bore of the seal lightly with clean engine oil. Ensure that the seal is properly seated in the groove, as shown.

Note: Before the terminal assembly is assembled, press fit plug extension (6) into the transformer group.

(5) Torque for the terminal assembly ... 2.70 ± 0.25 N·m (24 ± 2 lb in)

Note: When the torque is applied to terminal assembly, spacer (4) should be able to slip from the side to the side.

(7) On every removal of the ignition transformer group, check the O-ring seal. Replace the O-ring seal if either of the following conditions exist:

• The O-ring seal is hard.

• The O-ring seal is cracked.
