Install Newer Software in order to Avoid False Diagnostic Codes {1901, 1902, 7620}

Usage:

C7 C7S

Engine: C7 (S/N: C7S1-UP)

Some earlier C7 On-highway Engines may falsely generate this diagnostic code:

157-15 Engine Injector Metering Rail 1 Pressure : High - Least Severe (1)

This can be corrected by flashing the engine control module (ECM) with software that has a release date of June 2007 or later than June 2007.

Note: Consult your Caterpillar dealer on the availability of a program for upgrading the software.

If the 157-15 diagnostic code recurs after the software has been updated, perform the troubleshooting procedure that is recommended in Troubleshooting, RENR9342, "C7 and C9 On-highway Engines".

The effectivity for the engines that may need the software upgrade is listed in Table 1.
