- Disconnect sensor harness assembly (1) from the engine harness assembly.

- Remove cable straps (5) that secure the harness assemblies to the support clips.

- Remove nut (2) and sensor (3) from mounting ring (4) .
- Remove bolts (6), the washers, the spacers, and the rubber mounts.
- Remove sensor control unit (8) and bracket assembly (7) .
- Remove nuts (9) and the washers.

- Remove cover (10) and the spacers.
- Remove sensor assembly (11) .

Installation Procedure

- Install new sensor assembly (11) .

- Install the spacers and cover (10) .

- Install the washers and nuts (9) and hand tighten nuts (9) .
- Tighten nuts (9) to a torque of 25 ± 6 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).
- Position bracket (7) and sensor control unit (8) .

- Install the rubber mounts, the spacers, the washers, and bolts (6) .
- Install sensor (3) into mounting ring (4) and tighten nut (2) to a torque of 50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft).
- Install cable straps (5) in order to secure the harness assembly to the support clips.
Note: Secure the harness assembly to the upper support with the tie so that there is 250 mm (10 inch) of slack between the sensor and the support clip.
Note: Secure the harness assembly to the lower support with the tie so that there is 110 mm (4 inch) of slack between the edge of the cover for the sensor control unit and the first support clip.
- Connect sensor harness assembly (1) to the engine harness assembly.
