Alternator - Inspect
Caterpillar doporučuje provádět pravidelnou plánovanou prohlídku alternátoru. Zkontrolujte, zda u alternátoru nejsou uvolněna spojení, a zda je řádně dobíjen akumulátor. Správnou výkonnost akumulátoru a správnou činnost elektrického systému ověřte pozorováním ampérmetru (je-li ve výbavě) za chodu motoru. Proveďte všechny potřebné opravy.
Zkontrolujte správnou činnost alternátoru a zkontrolujte také správnou činnost dobíjení akumulátorů. Jsou-li akumulátory nabity správně, měl by být údaj ampérmetru velmi blízký nule. Všechny akumulátory je třeba udržovat v nabitém stavu. Akumulátory je třeba udržovat teplé, neboť teplota ovlivňuje roztáčecí výkon akumulátoru. Pokud jsou akumulátory příliš studené, nemusí být schopny protáčet motorem.
Jestliže motor již dlouho dobu neběžel nebo byl opakovaně v chodu jen na krátkou dobu, akumulátory nemusí být plně nabity. Akumulátor, který není dostatečně nabit, může snáze zamrznout.
