An Improved Window Guide and Rail Are Now Being Used on Certain Wheel Loaders {7310}

Description of Change: The improved rail and guide will improve the function of the cab window group.

Adaptable To: The new 469-0238 Rail and 469-0237 Guide are adaptable to the following machines:

Installation Procedure

  1. Move machine to a hard level service. Apply the parking brake and turn key switch to the OFF position


    NOTICE

    Care must be taken during the removal and installation of the rail and slide as the window can be broken.

  1. Using a screw driver press inward on the 394-5936 Slider (A) until the slide can be moved in the direction indicated in 1. Pull the slider 394-5936 Slider (A) out of 384-6529 Rail (B) Using pliers, break the slider (A) out from the window frame.

  1. Remove the 384-6530 Sliding Glass and the rail (B) from the cab. Place the glass on a clean flat surface. Using a pliers or other compressing devise squeeze the bottom of the rail (B), the rail can now be pulled away from the window. Repeat until the entire length of the rail has been loosened. Remove the rail (B) from the glass. Clean the glass of all debris.

  1. Apply a 3 mm (0.12 inch) bead, of an approved glass adhesive, to the new rail (1). Leave a 5 mm (0.20 inch) gap of adhesive from the end of the rail (1). Insert glass into rail (1) as shown in Illustration 3. The glass should align with the end of the rail (1) opposite the latch end of the window. Press rail (1) until the rail (1) is in contact with the entire length of the glass. Allow the adhesive to cure before continuing to Step 5.

  1. Install the glass with the new rail (1) into the 372-6246 Cab Window Gp .

  1. Place the guide (2) into a minimum of 80° C (176.00000° F), for 1 minute.

  1. Install the guide (2) onto the window frame, as shown in Illustration 4. The guide (2) will need to be tilted for proper installation.

  1. Press the guide (2) in the direction indicated, to allow the guide (2) to go into the rail (1). Lock the window for a minimum of 4 hours to allow adhesive to cure.
