Hood - Remove and Install - Engine

Usage:

Removal Procedure

  1. Open latches (2) on hood assembly (1).

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to hood assembly (1). The weight of hood assembly (1) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).

  3. Support the hood assembly in the OPEN position. Remove nut (4) and the washer from gas spring assembly (3).

  4. Remove pin (5), the cotter pin, the washers, and gas spring assembly (3).

  5. Lower hood assembly (1) to the CLOSED position.

  6. Remove bolts (6) from hood assembly (1).

  7. Remove hood assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install hood assembly (1) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 12.5 ± 2.5 N·m (111 ± 22 lb in).
