Start By:
- Connect the steering frame lock.
- Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Chock the wheels to prevent the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

- Remove bolts (5).

Illustration 4 g06363602 - Remove lock wire (10) and setscrew (9) from carrier bearing (7).
- Remove fitting (8).
- Install carrier bearing (7) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (B) to front drive shaft (6) in the area marked (X) prior to installing carrier bearing (7).
- After carrier bearing (7) has been installed onto front drive shaft (6), tighten setscrew (9) until setscrew (9) bottoms into the keyway. Back off setscrew (9) 1/2 turn.
Note: Do not misalign carrier bearing (7) beyond an angle of ± 2 degrees.
- Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of
520 ± 70 N·m (384 ± 52 lb ft) . - Tighten bolts (2) in an X pattern to a torque of
150 ± 15 N·m (111± 11lb ft) . Retighten bolts (2) to a torque of150 ± 15 N·m (111± 11lb ft) .Note: Replace the run down bolts (2) with the new drive line bolts (2).
