Usage:

3145, 3150, 3160 Generator Set Engines

SUPPLEMENT: 03/25/85

SERVICE MAGAZINE, OCTOBER 15, 1984, PAGE 7. Put a mark through the article "New Indicator Lamps Used On Generator Control Panels". The 2N3515 and 2N3516 Indicator Lamps must still be used and not the new parts shown in the article.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Description of Change: The 2N3515 and 2N3516 Indicator Lights used in the control panels of the above generator sets are no longer available from the manufacturers. When present stocks are exhausted, no direct replacements will be available.

Different indicator lamp assemblies can be used if the control panel is modified as shown in the "ADAPTABLE TO" portion of this article.

Adaptable To: The chart shows replacement part numbers for the discontinued indicator lights. If the new indicator lamp assemblies are used, the mounting holes for the indicator lamps in the control panel assembly must be made larger. Enlarge the diameter of the mounting holes to 17.5 mm (.69'). Put the lamp assembly in position in the control panel and tighten the mounting nut to a torque of 16 to 22 N·m (12 to 16 lb ft). Remove the terminals from the wires that connected to the former indicator lights. Then remove 6.3 mm (.25") of insulation from the end of each wire. Connect the wires to the screw terminals of the indicator lamp assembly.
