Usage:
All SR4 Generators With 4W5269, 4W5270 And 4W5271 Voltage Regulators
Description of Change: Two changes have been made to the wiring of the generator sets shown above. The color of wire number 7 (see Illustrations 1 and 2) has been changed from yellow to white. The use of the white wire will help the generator set to better conform to international wiring codes. The function and testing of the wire has not changed.
Illustration 1. Former wiring diagram.
Illustration 2. New wiring diagram.
The wiring of the voltage droop rheostat (R1) has been changed. The operation of the voltage droop rheostat has not been changed. However, a 50% setting of the voltage droop rheostat (one-half turn) on the new voltage regulator, will not give the same reactive droop as on the former regulator.
If it is necessary to use cross current compensation for parallel operation, refer to the May 1984, Engine Data Sheet 75.5.
Adaptable To: The new voltage droop rheostat wiring connection extends the range of the regulator gain rheostat. It also limits the range of the voltage droop rheostat. See the illustrations for the former and new wiring diagrams.
NOTE: Wiring of the voltage regulator droop rheostat is the same for line to neutral power, and line to line power for exitation and regulation.
