When a new 197-3531 Droop Module is received, inspect the orientation of the 170-5400 terminal strip. The orientation of the 170-5400 terminal strip may have been modified in accordance to a Technical Information Bulletin (TIB) dated 09AUG 2000. This TIB instructed the user to modify the orientation of the 170-5400 terminal strip in order to correct a problem that occurred in the incorrectly assembled 173-7793 droop module. The problem that occurred in the 173-7793 droop module has been corrected in the 197-3531 droop module. If the 170-5400 terminal strip was modified and is oriented like the terminal strip shown in Illustration 1, perform the following steps. If the 170-5400 terminal strip was not modified and is oriented like the terminal strip shown in Illustration 2, proceed to step 10.

  1. Remove the old droop module (6) from the 170-5400 terminal strip.

  1. Remove the VR3 wires labeled "5" and "6" from the top row of terminal block 5 and terminal block 6.

  1. Remove the Droop CT wires labeled "5" and "6" from the bottom row of terminal block 5 and terminal block 6.

  1. Remove the end block (5) .

  1. Remove the following items from the rail and rotate these items 180 degrees: terminal block 5, terminal block 6 and the divider (3). Terminal block labels "5" and "6" should remain on their original terminal blocks.

  1. After the terminal blocks have been rotated 180 degrees, reattach the terminal blocks to the rail (4) .

  1. Reattach and tighten the end block (5) .

  1. Insert the VR3 wires labeled "5" and "6" into their respective terminal blocks. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Insert the Droop CT wires labeled "5" and "6" into their respective terminal blocks. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Insert the 197-3531 droop module (6) into terminal blocks 5 and 6. Refer to Illustration 2.
