------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.

----------------------

  1. Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface. Move the machine away from any machines that are in operation. Move the machine away from other personnel.

  1. Permit only one operator on the machine at one time. A service person may be in the area in order to instruct the operator. Check that all other personnel are away from the machine at all times.

  1. Turn off the suspended axle control switch.

  1. Activate the parking brake. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground. Lower the apron (if equipped). Turn off the engine.

  1. Move the implement control levers to all positions in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.

  1. Slowly loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic oil tank in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank.

  1. After the engine or engines have been turned off, wait at least 5 minutes. Waiting at least 5 minutes will allow the hydraulic pressure to be relieved. The hydraulic pressure must be relieved before you perform the following actions:

    • Tighten any fitting or any component.

    • Loosen any fitting or any component.

    • Adjust any fitting or any component.

A visual inspection must be completed before you perform any tests. Check under the machine for oil that has leaked onto the ground. Check for parts that are damaged.
