- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Illustration 1 g01080063 - Disconnect hose (6) from water temperature regulator housing (1).
- Disconnect hose (3) from housing manifold (2).
- Disconnect harness assembly (7) for the coolant temperature sensor.
- Remove bolts (5).
- Loosen studs (4) and remove water temperature regulator housing (1) and housing manifold (2) from the cylinder head.

- Remove water temperature regulator (10).
- Remove lip seal (11) from the water temperature regulator housing.

- Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (11) in water temperature regulator housing (1).
- Install water temperature regulator (10) in the water temperature regulator housing.
- Install gasket (9) on studs (4).
- Install housing manifold (2) and gasket (8) on the studs.

Illustration 4 g01080063 - Position water temperature regulator housing (1) and housing manifold (2) on the cylinder head and tighten studs (4) to a torque of
50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft) . - Install bolts (5) and tighten to a torque of
50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft) . - Connect hose (6).
- Connect hose (3).
- Connect harness assembly (7) for the coolant temperature sensor.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
