Engine Oil Filter Base - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the engine oil filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove".

- Remove plug (1) from oil filter base assembly (3). Remove O-ring seal (2) from the plug.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |

- Remove bolts (7) and covers (8) from oil filter base assembly (3). Remove gaskets (6) from the covers.
- Remove springs (5) and plungers (4) from oil filter base assembly (3) .
- If necessary, remove taperlock stud (9) from oil filter base assembly (3) .
