Engine Oil Filter Base - Disassemble

Usage:

C-15 Z2C

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the engine oil filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. Remove plug (1) from oil filter base assembly (3). Remove O-ring seal (2) from the plug.

  1. Remove bolts (7) and covers (8) from oil filter base assembly (3). Remove gaskets (6) from the covers.

  1. Remove springs (5) and plungers (4) from oil filter base assembly (3) .

  1. If necessary, remove taperlock stud (9) from oil filter base assembly (3) .
