Description of Change: An improved corporate padlock group is available for all Caterpillar machines. The padlock group features an improved padlock with a new design that is in line with the Caterpillar corporate identity initiative.

Adaptable To: The 246-2641 Padlock Group is a direct replacement for the former 5P-8502 Padlock Group .

Note: The 5P-8500 Padlock Key will open both the former 5P-8502 Padlock Group and the new 246-2641 Padlock Group.

The corporate padlock and padlock key is used on Caterpillar machines in order to lock battery boxes, filler caps, toolboxes and other access doors. In addition to these applications, the key can be used with the engine ignition system and the key can also open cylinder locks in various door handles on the machine.
