為了防止火花點燃由某些蓄電池所產生的可燃性氣體,外部電源的跨接起動電纜的"-"(負極) 應該要最後接到起動馬達的"-"(負極) 接線柱上。 如果起動馬達上沒有配備"-"(負極) 接線柱,則將跨接起動電纜連接到引擎缸體上。

要每天檢查電氣線路以防線路鬆動或磨損。 起動引擎之前應擰緊所有鬆動的配線。 在引擎起動之前,要完成所有磨損電氣線路的檢修。 有關具體的起動說明,請參閱本 操作保養手冊 , "起動引擎與冷天起動 "。

接地實例

船隻和引擎的電力系統必須適當的接地。 正確的接地是達到引擎性能和可靠度最佳化所必須的。 不正確的接地會造成不受控和不可靠的電路路徑。

不可控制的電路路徑能損壞主軸承、曲軸軸頸表面和鋁製零件。 不可控制的電路也可能會導致電噪音。 電噪音會降低船隻性能和無線電的品質。

交流發電機、起動馬達和所有電氣系統必須接地至負極蓄電池接線柱。 交流發電機必須符合 船隻絕緣要求。 起動馬達也必須符合船隻絕緣要求。

對於引擎裝有接地至引擎組件的交流發電機,接地帶必須連接該組件至負極蓄電池接線柱,而該組件必須與引擎絕緣。

也允許使用具有直接通路到蓄電池負極 "-"端的匯流排,同時建議所有需要與蓄電池負極 "-"端連接的組件都用它。 该汇流排应直接连接到蓄电池的负极"-"端。 也應該有一條連接電纜從缸體連到在蓄電池負極"-" 連接端上的匯流排上。
