Assembly Procedure

1. Install the shaft assembly (7) into water pump housing (10) with a press. Install the shaft assembly until the bearing is flush with the water pump housing.

2. Support the shaft assembly and press hub (9) onto the shaft assembly. The Distance (X) between the front of hub (9) and the machined surface of water pump housing (10) must be 122.79 ± 0.30 mm (4.834 ± 0.012 inch).

3. Support the shaft assembly. Install water pump seal assembly (8) into the bore of the water pump housing with Tooling (B) .

4. Support the shaft assembly. Install impeller (6) on the shaft assembly with a press. Install the impeller until the Distance (Y) between the impeller and the machined surface of the water pump is 0.75 ± 0.25 mm (0.030 ± 0.010 inch).

5. Install a new gasket between cover (3) of the water pump and the water pump housing. Position the gasket and the cover on the water pump housing. Install washers and bolts (5). Install two new O-ring seals (4) in the cover.

6. Position pulley (2) on the water pump and install bolts (1) .

End By: Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install".
