Due to the introduction of Caterpillar's low emission engines, and the introduction of compression brakes for the engines, new slave piston lash settings are available. The charts in this article will summarize the lash settings for engines that are equipped with Pacbrake compression brakes and Jake Brake compression brakes.

For information that relates to the procedure that is used for adjusting the slave piston lash, refer to the Testing and Adjusting manual for your engine.
