Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove bolts (1) .

  1. Remove bolt (11) with the nut and the washer. Remove saddle clamp (6) .

  1. Remove bolts (10) and the washers.

  1. Disconnect fitting (9) .

  1. Remove oil supply tube assembly (2) and the gasket from turbocharger (3) .

  1. Remove bolts (4) and the washers.

  1. Remove oil drain tube assembly (5). Remove the O-ring seal and the gasket from oil drain tube assembly (5) .

  1. Move hose clamp (8). Disconnect hose (7) .

  1. Remove nuts (13) .

  1. Remove turbocharger (3) and gasket (12) from the exhaust manifold.
