Linkage Adjustment

  1. Disconnect linkage (7) from lever (4) or control valve lever (6).

  2. Rotate lever (4) counterclockwise in order to move the control valve to the Main Run position until the control valve is against stop pin that is inside the cover assembly.

  3. Push control valve lever (6) to the Main Run position until the ball of the plunger assembly (8) seats into the hole of the mounting bracket.

  4. Adjust the linkage in order to fit between lever (4) and control valve lever (6).

  5. Install the linkage to lever (4) or control valve lever (6).

Control Valve Adjustment

Note: The adjustment procedure that follows must be done with the temperature at 20 °C (68 °F) and the complete surface of control valve must be lubricated with engine oil.

  1. Loosen jam nut (1). Tighten adjustment nut (5) to a torque of 3 N·m (27 lb in). Scribe a mark on the face of cover assembly (2) in order to locate one of the corners of the adjustment nut (5).

  2. Loosen adjustment nut (5) by 30 degrees until control valve shaft (3) has axial movement of 0.220 ± 0.080 mm (0.0087 ± 0.0031 inch).

  3. Hold adjustment nut (5) with a wrench and tighten jam nut (1) to a torque of 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft).

  4. Rotate the control valve. The valve should move freely without binding. If the valve does not move freely, more adjustment is necessary.
