Introduction

This Special Instruction outlines the installation procedure to retrofit a 471-1992 Heavy Duty Swivel Guard Upgrade Kit on certain excavators listed above.

Do not perform any of the procedures or order any parts until you have read and understand the instructions contained in this publication.

Servicing position of an Excavator

1. Place the machine in the servicing position. Refer to the appropriate Operation and Maintenance Manual for the proper procedure.

Installation Procedure

(1) 130-4276 Plate (2) 134-8857 Plate As (3) 447-1707 Bolt (4) 453-2865 Hard Washer

1. Position one plate (1) onto plate assembly (2) and install two hard washers (4) and two bolts (3). Loosely tighten the two bolts. Repeat for the other three plates (1).

2. Slide all four plates (1) toward the center of plate assembly (2) in order to provide clearance for installation.

   (A) Lower frame

3. Place plate assembly (2) into lower frame (A) of the machine. Slide all four plates (1) toward the outside of the plate assembly. Tighten all eight bolts (3).
