Visual Inspection
如果怀疑冷却系统有故障，在对冷却系统进行任何测试前，对冷却系统进行检查。
- 检查冷却系统中的冷却液液位。 请参阅操作和保养手册, "冷却系统冷却液液位 - 检查"。
- 确保冷却液符合操作和保养手册的建议。 同时，确保冷却液具有下列性质：
- 颜色应与新冷却液相似
- 气味应与新冷却液相似
- 没有污垢和碎屑
- 查看冷却系统有无泄漏。 发动机停机后，查看散热器溢流的冷却液或蒸汽。 检查软管和管卡箍状况是否良好。
如果在气缸盖和发动机缸体之间的接触面有发动机机油或冷却液泄漏，气缸盖垫有故障。
注: 水泵在冷却液的水封和轴承的油封之间有残液流出孔。 如果水泵水封有故障，残液流出孔防止冷却液进入润滑系统。 残液流出孔有少量冷却液是正常的。
- 确保空气流经散热器且无阻塞。 查找散热器片有无弯曲、损坏或泄漏。 查找阻塞空气流通过散热器片的脏物和碎屑。
- 检查风扇驱动皮带和皮带轮槽。
松动的驱动皮带的磨损比合适张紧的皮带要快。 松动的皮带可能损坏皮带轮。 松动的皮带可能打滑。 某些物质象机油和润滑剂将引起皮带打滑。
- 检查风扇叶片是否损坏。 查找有无损坏的散热器导流板和丢失的导流板。 检查风扇护罩状况是否良好。
- 检查空气进气系统。 确保空气滤清器、空气进气和排气无阻塞。
- 查找冷却液中有无空气或燃烧气体的迹象。
冷却液中空气和/或气体导致冷却液起泡沫。

加压的系统： 热的冷却液能造成严重的烫伤。 在发动机停机，等待冷却系统部件冷却下来后再打开冷却系统加注口盖。 缓慢松开冷却系统加注口盖，以释放掉所有压力。
- 发动机冷却后，缓慢地卸下冷却系统加注口盖，释放压力。 检查加注口盖。 检查密封垫的状况。 检查盖的密封面。
密封垫和密封面必须清洁、无凿孔、刻痕和沟槽。
