NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) from injection actuation pressure control valve (1) .

  1. Remove nut (3), spacer (8), and solenoid valve (7) from injection actuation pressure control valve (1) .

  1. Use Tool (A) and an extension in order to remove the injection actuation pressure control valve from the unit injector hydraulic pump.

  1. Remove O-ring seals (4) and (6), and backup ring (5) from the injection actuation pressure control valve. Inspect the components of the injection actuation pressure control valve for wear or damage. If any part is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.
