Barring Group - Remove and Install

Usage:

3512 4DR

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Turn OFF the pressurized air supply to barring motor (1). Purge the pressurized air from the air lines and from the barring motor.

  2. Mark the hoses that are attached to barring motor (1) and mark the fittings for the hoses on the barring motor for identification upon installation. Disconnect the hoses from the barring motor.

  3. Remove three bolts (2) that attach barring motor (1) to the flywheel housing. Remove the barring motor.

  4. Remove the gasket from the joint between barring motor (1) and the flywheel housing. Discard the gasket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install a new gasket for the joint between barring motor (1) and the flywheel housing.

  2. Place barring motor (1) into position on the flywheel housing. Install three bolts (2) that attach the barring motor to the flywheel housing.

  3. Use the identification marks on the hoses and on the fittings of barring motor (1). Connect the hoses to the barring motor.
