Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove the O-ring seal from the joint between the tube assembly and the prelubrication oil pump. Discard the O-ring seal.
- Disconnect tube assembly (2) from prelubrication oil pump (1). Remove the O-ring seal from the joint between the tube assembly and the prelubrication oil pump. Discard the O-ring seal.

- Remove the bolts (4) that attach prelubrication oil pump (1) to bracket (5). Remove prelubrication oil pump (1).

- Place prelubrication oil pump (1) into position on bracket (5). Install bolts (4) that attach the prelubrication oil pump to the bracket.
- Install a new O-ring seal for the joint between tube assembly (3) and prelubrication oil pump (1). Connect the tube assembly to the prelubrication oil pump.
