(1) If the Wolff Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Stand is not available to disassemble the blade cylinder, consult the Caterpillar Service Technology Group.

Start By:

  1. Remove the blade cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Blade Cylinder - Remove" in this manual.

  1. Put the blade cylinder in Tooling (A). The weight of the blade cylinder is 25 kg (55 lb).

  2. Remove two bolts (2). Remove connector assembly (1). Remove O-ring seal (3). Remove flange (6). Remove O-ring seal (8).

  3. Remove two bolts (5). Remove connector assembly (5). Remove O-ring seal (7).

  4. Remove lock ring (26) from cover (16).

  5. Use Tooling (C) to unscrew cover (16) from cylinder assembly (14).

  6. Use Tooling (A) to slide rod assembly (15) out of cylinder assembly (14).

  7. Remove seal assembly (12) from piston (13).

  8. Use Tooling (B) to remove locknut (11) that holds piston (13) to rod assembly (15). Remove piston (13) from rod assembly (15).

  9. Remove head (19) and cover (16) from rod assembly (15).

  10. Remove O-ring seal (24), O-ring seal (20) and ring (21) from head (19).

  11. Remove lip type seal (25), seal (23) and seal (22) from head (19).

  12. Remove lip type seals (9) from cylinder assembly (14). Remove bearing (10) from cylinder assembly (14).

  13. Remove lip type seals (17) from rod assembly (15). Remove bearing (18) from rod assembly (15).
