Reconnecting The 166-0294 Wiring Harness To The Solenoid Valves For Cold Planers

Problem:

Difficulties are being reported for reconnecting the 166-0294 Wiring Harness to the solenoid valves on the PC6 and PC9 Cold Planers. Once the wiring harness connector plugs are disconnected from the solenoid valve connector plugs, there is no identification on the solenoid valves to match them to the connector plugs on the wiring harness.

Solution:

Engineering is working with suppliers to add color-coded tags to the wires for the connector plugs for the solenoid valves and for the wiring harness. In the meantime, a diagram of the physical solenoid valve arrangement is provided and the color coding of the wired harness connectors is identified. See Figure 1.

(A) Attach the Green/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Sideshift Control Function)

(B) Attach the Blue/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Tilt Control Function)

(C) Attach the White/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Depth Control Function)

NOTE: The 166-0294 Wiring Harness has 5 connector plugs. The two Brown-Black wired connector plugs are not used for the PC6 and PC9 Cold Planers.
