Reconnecting The 166-0294 Wiring Harness To the Solenoid Valves For The SG16 And SG18 Stump Grinders

Usage:

STUMP GRINDERS

SKID STEER LOADERS

SG16 (ALJ, AMG) STUMP GRINDERS;
216 (4NZ1-Up),
226 5FZ1-Up, 228 (6BZ1-Up, 236 4YZ1-Up, 246 5SZ1-Up),
248 6LZ1-Up) SKID STEER LOADERS

Problem:

Difficulties are being reported for reconnecting the 166-0294 Wiring Harness to the solenoid valves on the SG16 and SG18 Stump Grinders. Once the wiring harness connector plugs are disconnected from the solenoid valve connector plugs, there is no identification on the solenoid valves to match them to the connector plugs on the wiring harness.

Solution:

Engineering is working with suppliers to add color-coded tags to the wires for the connector plugs for the solenoid valves and for the wiring harness. In the meantime, diagrams of the physical solenoid valve arrangement are provided and the color coding of the wired harness connectors is identified.

NOTE: The wiring harness-to-solenoid connections are different for the two stump grinders. See Illustration 1 for the SG16 connections. See Illustration 2 for the SG18 connections.

Illustration 1 - Solenoid-to-Wiring Harness Connections for the SG16 Stump Grinder

(A) Attach one of the Brown/Black Wired Connectors from the Wiring Harness (Swing Control Function)
(B) Attach the White/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Reverse Flow of the Diverter Valve)
(C) Attach the Blue/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Standard Flow of the Diverter Valve)
(D) Attach one of the Brown/Black Wired Connectors from the Wiring Harness (Extension Control Function)

NOTE: The 166-0294 Wiring Harness has 5 connector plugs. The Green/Black wired connector plug is not used for the SG16 Stump Grinder.

(B) Attach the Blue/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Extension Control Function)
(C) Attach the Green/Black Wired Connector from the Wiring Harness (Swing Control Function)

NOTE: The 166-0294 Wiring Harness has 5 connector plugs. The two Brown/Black wired connector plugs are not used for the SG18 Stump Grinder.
