SUBJECT: CAB MOUNTING GROUP MAY NOT ASSEMBLE PROPERLY
REFERENCE: Service Magazine, SEPD0541, September 11, 2002, "New Cab Mount Assembly is Used in Order to Reduce the Vibration of the Cab"
PROBLEM:
The 6I-7249 Cab Mounting Group is used to mount the cab of 5130B (4CS173-Up), 5230 (7LL101-UP) and all 5230B (4HZ) Excavators. The group is also used in any excavators that have been retrofitted with the new cab mount assembly. The mounting group uses 164-8902 Spacers and 164-8901 Sleeves. The inner diameter of the spacers may be too small and the sleeve may be too long. Therefore, the mounting group may not assemble properly. If the mounting group is not assembled properly, the cab may vibrate excessively.
SOLUTION:
- Check the inner diameter of 164-8902 Spacer. If necessary, machine the inner diameter of the spacer as shown in Illustration 1.
- Check the length of 164-8901 Sleeve. If necessary, machine to length to 91 +/- 0.12 mm (3.58 +/- .005 inch) as shown in Illustration 2. Deburr the outer diameter and the inner diameter.
