Rust At The Threaded Openings Of Air Conditioning Accumulators Could Cause A Restriction Of The A/C System

Usage:

GENERALALL CATERPILLAR PRODUCTS USING THE 3E-0443 ACCUMULATOR, 151-5261 ACCUMULATOR, OR 152-2823 ACCUMULATOR

Problem:

Rust can accumulate on the threaded openings of certain air conditioner accumulators. The suspect accumulators are 3E-0443 Accumulator, 151-5261 Accumulator, and 152-2823 Accumulator. The rust condition can cause a restriction in the air conditioning system.

Solution:

If service work needs to be performed on an air conditioning system or a complaint arises concerning a restriction in the system, inspect the accumulator for rust in the openings. Use a wire brush to remove the rust. Lubricate the threads with mineral. See the illustration for typical openings for rust accumulation.
