Pressure Switch On Service Brake Control Valve Can Malfunction If Over Tightened

Usage:

EXCAVATORSM312 (6TL1-UP),
M315 (7ML1-UP),
M318 (6ES1-UP, 8AL1-UP, 8SS1-UP),
M320 (6WL1-UP, 9PS1-UP) EXCAVATORS

Problem:

The pressure switch in the brake control valve can malfunction due to an incorrect torque. The conical threads on the pressure switch will pinch when the switch is over tightened. This condition will lock the internal piston and prevent the switch from operating correctly.

Solution:

If the low brake pressure switch malfunctions, remove the switch (1) and reinstall it to the correct torque. Standard torque for the 5W-9972 Pressure Switch Assembly is 55 ± 10 Nm (41 ± 7 lb ft).
