Description of Change: The swing bearing is improved by utilizing a roller type bearing. The roller bearing decreases the amount of backlash between the outer bearing race and the inner bearing race. It also reduces the vertical movement between the carbody and upper frame.

Adaptable To: The new roller type bearing is used in place of the former ball type bearing in the bearing and gear group. The chart lists the models, the service replacement bearing and gear groups, and the effectivity of the new bearing.

The fulfilled by reference numbers (not serviced) are listed to identify usage of the new bearing. Illustration 1 shows a typical new bearing and gear group with the new bearing. Illustration 2 shows the locations of the reference numbers for service considerations.
