Oil Filter Group Changed To Allow Oil To Be Easily Drained From Oil Lines{1307}

Usage:

5230 (7LL) Excavators;
Remanufactured 3516 (7CL) Engines For These Machines

Description of Change: This article replaces the article with the same title on Page 4 of the February 2, 1998 issue.

The oil filter group on the 3516 EUI Engines in these machines, and the Remanufactured 3516 Engines for these machines, has been changed to allow oil in the engine oil lines to be quickly drained before servicing the engine oil filters. The drain point is a "quick connect fitting" by the oil filter base.

Adaptable To: The illustration and chart identify the new components in the 106-4697 Oil Filter Group. The new components are effective with 3516 EUI (2PK1481) Engines in 5230 (7LL82) Excavators. The new components are effective with Remanufactured 3516 (7CL385) Engines for these machines. The new components, when used together, are adaptable to the engines in all earlier 5230 (7LL) Excavators.
