Usage:
5130 (7TJ, 5ZL),
5130B (4CS),
5230 (7LL) Excavators
A new switch that is activated by a pressure differential between the inlet and outlet ports is used in the high pressure screens in the discharge lines for the hydraulic pumps. The new switch uses a plug, with thread lock compound on the threads, to prevent internal leakage of hydraulic oil.
The new 159-0749 Switch (1) replaces the former 104-3897 Switch used with the 112-2943 Screen, 112-2944 Swing High Pressure Screen, 136-4567 Screen Group, and the 136-4569 Implement High Pressure Screen Group.
The 112-2943 Screen is used with 5130 (7TJ, 5ZL) and 5230 (7LL) Excavators. The 112-2944 Swing High Pressure Screen, 136-4567 Screen Group, and the 136-4569 Implement High Pressure Screen Group are used with 5130 (7TJ, 5ZL) Excavators.
New 159-0749 Switch (1) is adaptable to first production for the above models. The former 104-3897 Switch can be upgraded in one of two ways:
-
- * Install new 158-6157 Plug (2) and 095-1581 O-Ring Seal (3).
- * Remove internal plug, apply thread lock compound to threads (see Procedure), and reinstall plug.
- * Install new 158-6157 Plug (2) and 095-1581 O-Ring Seal (3).
Procedure:
1. Clean threads of internal plug.
2. Use 122-3781 Quick Cure Primer or 4C-9500 Quick Cure Primer to prepare threads of internal plug for thread lock compound.
3. Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound or 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound, evenly, but sparingly, to threads of internal plug. Do not apply compound to threads of switch.
4. Install internal plug.
5. Wipe off excess thread lock compound.
6. Switch can be returned to service without waiting for the thread lock compound to cure.
NOTE: Avoid prolonged contact of thread lock compound with hands. Wash hands with water.
