Improved Rod In Bottom Dump Cylinder Group For Bucket {5457}

Description of Change: A new rod assembly replaced the former rod in the bottom dump cylinder group for the bucket. The new rod is direct hardened for better control of core hardness. Core hardness strengthens the rod shoulder area for the piston.

Adaptable To: The new 155-2947 Rod Assembly replaced the former 117-6501 Rod Assembly, effective with the 6E-5752 Bottom Dump Cylinder Group (Eng. Chg. 04).

Earlier 6E-5752 Bottom Dump Cylinder Groups (Eng. Chgs. 00-03) are adaptable, by replacing the former 117-6501 Rod Assembly with a new 155-2947 Rod Assembly.

NOTE: An engineering change number (Eng. Chg.) indicates effectivity of this improvement or adaptability to earlier cylinder groups. The cylinder group part number, engineering change number, and date of manufacture are found on the cylinder group tag.
