Bottom Dump Cylinder Has Stronger Cylinder Cap{5457}

Usage:

5130 (7TJ, 5ZL) Excavators

Description of Change: A new cylinder assembly is used in the 5130 Front Shovel bottom dump cylinder group. The new cylinder assembly has a cap made of stronger material to resist cap and bearing bore elongation when then bowl is operated toward the "open" position. The bearing lube fitting is repositioned from perpendicular to the direction of the load to 45 degrees to the direction of the load (see Illustration 1 and Illustration 2). This will prevent failure of the cap through the bearing lube passage. The new cylinder is 14.0 mm (.55 in) longer than the former cylinder assembly to prevent the piston from bottoming against the cylinder head when the bowl of the bucket is closed.

Adaptable To: The new 141-9960 Cylinder Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 6E-5753 Cylinder Assembly in 6E-5752 Cylinder Group. The new cylinder assembly is effective with 5130 (5ZL105) Excavator and is adaptable to all earlier machines.

NOTE: Some minor rerouting of the lube line and cylinder supply lines will be necessary to fit the new cylinder assembly to earlier machines.
