Pump Drive Shaft Universal Joint - Inspect

Usage:

789D SHH

Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

Remove the bolts that retain the pump drive shaft cover (1). Remove the cover to expose the front and rear universal joints.

Inspect inside the cover and the area surrounding the front and rear universal joints for evidence of grease loss from the universal joint seals and/or discoloration.

The universal joints are permanently lubricated and cannot be repaired. If indications of seal leakage or discoloration are present, replace the universal joints.
