Operator Profile Menu

Operator ID (Identification) Menu

Note: Pass code security / Operator ID is enabled with the External Authentication Device Installation Status setting. It can be toggled via Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET).

The Operator Menu allows the operator to load Application Profiles, Change Operator ID (if enabled), or Manage Operator pass codes (if enabled).

(1) OPERATOR button

  1. Press the OPERATOR button (1) on the right side of the display. The Operator menu page will appear.

There are two types of Operator pages:

  • Basic Operator

  • Master Operator

(2) Operator menu button (Basic Operator)

A Basic Operator will have the following options:

  • Change Operator: Changing from one operator to another.

(3) Operator menu button group (Master Operator)

A Master Operator will have the following options:

  • Change Operator: Changing from one operator to another.

  • Manage Operators: The Master Operator is able to add or delete Operator pass codes.

Note: There must be at least one Master Operator in the Information Display system. The initial Master Operator acquires the access code through Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET). Master Operators can add other Master Operators. However, the Master Operators cannot delete their own identification profile.

Change Operator

Operator > Change Operator

The Change Operator page allows the operator to change the operator of the machine from one person to another. The Operator Name (9), in the Lower Information Banner, indicates the current operator of the machine.

Enter a Pass Code

  1. Press the Operator button (1). The Operator menu page will appear.

  2. Press the Change Operator menu button (2). The Change Operator numerical keypad page will appear. It will prompt the operator to enter a pass code.

  3. Enter the pass code by pressing the intended number buttons on the numerical keypad. The numeric pass code cannot exceed seven (7) digits, including leading zeroes.

  4. Correct a mistyped number by pressing the Keypad BACK button (7), then reenter the correct number.

  5. Press the OK button (5) to enter the pass code.

Once a pass code is verified as valid, the new Operator Name (9) will be displayed. If there is no operator, this area will be blank.

(9) Operator Name

Note: If a pass code is invalid, the numerical keypad will flash three (3) asterisks (***). The operator can try to enter the numeric pass code again.

Note: If the login procedure is blocked due to several invalid login attempt, a page will appear on the Information Display with the message, “Code Entry Blocked”. The OK button (5) will not be available. While blocked, the machine will be locked out for 15 minutes.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the HOME page (Performance Page 1).

Manage Operators (Master Operators Only)

Menu > Operator > Manage Operators

The Manage Operator page allows only master operators to manage other operators of the machine. The master operator can add or delete other master operators as well as all standard operators. A standard operator will not see the Manage Operators setting.

Note: If a standard operator is currently logged in, the master operator must first log in with the master operator pass code in order to see the Manage Operators menu button (11). To do this, the master operator must first follow the procedures in the following section of this manual:

  1. Press the Operator button (1). The Operator menu page will appear.

  2. Press the Manage Operator menu button (11). The menu button will first turn to blue, then turn to yellow. The Manage Operators numerical keypad page will appear.

Note: Only operators with a master operator pass code will be able to see the Manage Operators menu button (11).

  1. Press the Add Operator menu button (12) The menu button will first turn to blue, then turn to yellow. The Choose Access Level menu page will appear.

  1. Choose the access level of the operator that you are going to add. Press the button corresponding to one of the following choices. Press OK (5) to continue.

    • Standard

    • Master

    Note: Only a Master Operator can add or delete other Master Operators as well as all Standard Operators.

  2. The Enter New Name alphanumeric keypad will appear.

(14) LETTER CASE CHANGE button

Note: The name cannot be longer that eleven (11) characters.

  1. Enter a new operator’s name by typing in the name with the alphanumeric keypad. The LETTER CASE CHANGE button (14) is used to toggle between capital letters and lower case letters.

  2. Correct a mistyped letter by pressing the Keypad BACK button (10), then reenter the correct letter.

  3. Press the OK button (5) to set the name.

If the pass code has been entered successfully, a message will appear in the Lower Information Banner indicating that the operator has been successfully added (“Add Operator Successful”).

If the pass code has not been entered successfully, a message will appear in the Lower Information Banner indicating that the new operator could not be added (“Add Operator Failed Exists or Max Reached”).

Note: Failure is possible if the pass code already exists or the maximum limit of twenty-five (25) total operators has been reached.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the HOME page (Performance Page 1).

Delete an Operator

  1. Press the Delete Operator menu button (15). The menu button will first turn to blue, then turn to yellow. The Delete Operator keypad page will appear.

    A message will appear asking the operator to verify if this specific operator is to be deleted.

  5. If the operator is to be deleted, press the OK button (5).

  6. If the operator is not to be deleted, press the BACK button (7) to return to the Manage Operator menu page.

After pressing the OK button (5), a message will appear in the Lower Information Banner indicating that the operator has been successfully deleted (“Delete Operator Successful”).

If the pass code deletion is unsuccessful, a message will appear in the Lower Information Banner.
