  1. Press the TOOL SELECT hotkey button (1) to access the Tool Select menu page and adjust the settings.

The menu list names are configurable. The defaults are "bucket", then "Tool #2", "Tool #3", and so on.

  1. Press the TOOL SELECT hotkey button (1) on the left side of the Display. The Tool Select menu page will appear.

  2. Scroll through the menu list of implements:

    • Bucket 1

    • Bucket 2

    • Brush

    • Hammer

    • Forks

  3. Press the intended menu button from the Tool Select menu button list (2). The button will turn first to blue, then to yellow. A check mark will appear next to the selection.

  4. Press the OK button (5) to set.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the Home page (Performance Page).

Autodig

Note: The Autodig feature must be installed.

AUTO

AUTO button

Press the AUTO button to set the Autodig operating mode to Auto Trigger. When Auto Trigger is engaged, the machine will be in an automatic pile detection mode and will start to dig on its own.

MANUAL

MANUAL button

Press the MANUAL button to set Autodig operating mode to Manual Trigger. In the Manual Trigger mode, the operator uses the designated button on the implement pod in the Cab to initiate a dig cycle.

TRIGGER - ON/OFF

TRIGGER - ON/OFF button

The Green trigger button means OFF and the Grey trigger button mean Not OFF. Press the TRIGGER - ON/OFF button to disable the Autodig Trigger button on the implement pod. The button will change from green (ON) to gray (OFF).

Note: The operator cannot trigger a dig cycle in the Trigger OFF mode.

Dig Effort

Machine > Settings > Autodig > Dig Effort

    (17) MINUS "-" button
    (18) PLUS "+" button

  1. Dig Effort numbers "1 – 5" correspond to the increasing aggressiveness of the dig.

  2. Dig Effort number "6" is a customizable setting that uses a recorded dig.

  3. Use the Increment/Decrement Bar to change the Dig Effort settings number.

  4. Press the PLUS (+) button (18) to increase a number. Press the MINUS (-) button (17) to decrease a number.

    Note: The newly set number will appear in white text.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the Home page (Performance Page).

Dig Effort Record

Machine > Settings > Autodig > Dig Effort Record

  1. To initiate a recordable dig, set the Dig Effort Increment/Decrement bar to “6”. Then, press the Dig Effort Record button (15).

    Note: The Dig Effort Record button will hide when the machine is not set to Dig Mode “6.”

  2. Pop up messages will guide the operator through the dig procedure.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the Home page (Performance Page).

Set Kickout

Machine > Settings > Autodig > Set Kickout

  1. Press the Autodig Set Kickout button to record the current linkage height. Subsequent digs will stop at this recordable set point or linkage height.

  2. The Auto button will briefly turn blue, advance to the right, and turn green. After the set point has been recorded, the button will automatically return to the left position and turn gray.

Press the BACK button (7) to return to the previous page.

Press the HOME button (8) to return to the Home page (Performance Page).

Press the Payload hotkey button (19) to navigate to the Payload Performance screen.

Automatic Pop-Up Numerical Keypad for Payload Calibration Weight

Should there be need for a Payload Calibration Weight input, the Enter Cal (Calibration) Weight numerical keypad will automatically appear when the PAYLOAD hotkey button (19) is pressed.

If a payload calibration weight has already been entered, the Payload Performance page will appear.

  • Payload is Not Calibrated

Payload Is Not Calibrated

Note: If a calibration weight is required, the keypad page will appear with a fault message in the Information Banner.

Note: The Enter Cal (Calibration) Keypad page will also appear when pressing the KEYPAD hotkey button provided no calibration weight has been entered.

  1. Enter a calibration weight by pressing the numbers on the keypad. The keypad entry range is between 0 tonne (0 tons) and 65.503 tonne (72.205 tons). Correct a mistake by pressing the KEYPAD BACK SPACE button (A).

  2. Press the OK button (5). Refer to Illustration 12.

Note: The following page will appear if Payload is not calibrated and the Calibration Weight entry is not required. Calibrations must be performed through the Service Menu.

Payload Performance Page

The Payload Measurement can be changed from “Tons” (English) to “lb x 1000” (Kilopounds) or to “Tonnes” (Metric).

The white box highlighting around the Truck ID button (22) will show only if the Tip-Off Trigger Modeis set to either Automatic or Manual and the mode is set to Stockpile.

When Tip- Off is Active, the Tip- Off Toggle button will appear. User selection will toggle between truck and stockpile Tip-Off Trigger Mode.

The white box highlighting around the Material ID button (23) will show only if the Tip-Off Trigger Modeis set to either Automatic or Manual and the mode is set to Stockpile.

Truck ID Reading

Press the Truck ID button (22) on the Payload Performance Page to view the Truck ID and its weight.

Scroll through the list until the intended Truck ID is highlighted with a yellow bar.

To scroll through the list, press the UP Arrow button (4) or the DOWN Arrow button (6). The sliding indicator of the Non-Interactive Scroll Bar (3) will move accordingly.

To quickly scroll to the bottom of the list, press the DOUBLE DOWN Arrow button (24). To quickly scroll to the top of the list, press the DOUBLE UP Arrow button (25).

Once the intended Truck ID is highlighted with a yellow bar, press the OK button (5) to view the intended truck’s reading.

Read Error page

Should the Read Error page appear, press the OK button (5) to retry the reading. Press the CANCEL button (26) to cancel the reading.

Material ID Reading

Press the Material ID button (23) on the Payload Performance Page to view the Material ID and its weight.

To scroll through the list, press the UP Arrow button (4) or the DOWN Arrow button (6). The sliding indicator of the Non-Interactive Scroll Bar (3) will move accordingly.

To quickly scroll to the bottom of the list, press the DOUBLE DOWN Arrow button (24). To quickly scroll to the top of the list, press the DOUBLE UP Arrow button (25).

Once the intended Material ID is highlighted with a yellow bar, press the OK button (5) to view the intended material reading.

Illustration 28 indicates the following:

  • Cat Production Measurement (30) is in "Normal" or "Tip-Off" Weigh Mode.

  • Payload Control System (31) is in "Normal" or "Tip-Off" Weigh Mode.

  • Bucket weight and or payload weight (32) appears only if the Cat Production Measurement is installed.

Payload Bucket Weight Status

Note: The Cat® Production Measurement (CPM) feature must be installed.

When the Payload Bucket Weight is not normal, a green box will appear around the Current Bucket Weight icon in both the Payload Performance Screen and in the Payload banner.

A message will also appear in the Information Banner at the bottom of the page recommending that action be taken by the operator. The “Lift Too High Lower Bucket” and the “Lift Too Low Raise Bucket” messages will remain in the Information Banner until the situation has been corrected.

(33) Payload Bucket Weight Reading
(34) Information Banner

The payload bucket weight reading (33) may show a green box as depicted in illustration 29. The operator is informed by a green box. The green box mean that the highest weight accuracy has been achieved. The information banner (34) contains messages informing the operator of the cause and the action to take.

Note: The CPM system will never cause the display to show a weigh error pop-up and a green box at the same time.

(35) Payload Bucket Weight on the Payload Banner is not normal. The operator is informed by a green box.

Note: The Payload Banner will appear across the bottom of the Display, but only in the rear view camera screen.

Information Banner Messages

The “Lift Too High Lower Bucket” and the “Lift Too Low Raise Bucket” messages will remain in the Information Banner (34) until the situation has been corrected.

However, the Information Banner will also show the following messages that will appear on the page for 3 seconds:

  • Reweigh Bucket

  • Weight w/o (without) shifting - Lift Pressure Change During Weigh

  • Keep Constant RPM - Excessive Lift Speed Change

  • Reweigh using detent - Lift Too Jerky During Weigh

  • Fully Rackback Bucket - Bucket Not Fully Racked

  • Weigh w/o (without) stopping - Lift Stopped During Weigh

  • Weight at higher RPM - Lift Too Slow To Weigh

PAYLOAD SETTINGS Button

Pressing the PAYLOAD SETTINGS button (36) navigates the operator to the Payload Settings menu page.

Manual Tip-Off Button

The Manual mode in Tip-Off allows the operator to manually enable or disable Tip-Off without auto mode functionality. The operator chooses when to enter Tip-Off via a new hot-key on the Payload screen.

(37) Manual Tip-Off Button

Pressing the Manual Tip-Off button (37) controls the following:

  • Pressing the gray button allows the machine to switch the Payload Operating Mode to the Excess mode.

  • Pressing the green button allows the machine to switch the Payload Operating Mode to the Normal mode.

(38) Manual Mode

Note: Ensure that the Tip-Off Trigger Mode is set to Manual. Both the Auto and Disabled modes will cause the Manual Tip-Off button to be hidden on the Payload screen’s right side “hotkey” buttons.

(37) Manual Tip-Off Button

Illustration 35 shows the Payload Performance Page when the Payload Display Mode is in the Simplified mode.

Note: The Payload Performance page can be shown in the Simplified mode as well as the Normal mode.

If the Manual Tip-Off mode is enabled, the hotkey button will appear on the page. However, the toggle feature will not be operational.

If the Manual Tip-Off mode is disabled, the hotkey button will appear as blank on the page.

  2. A dialog box will appear and ask, "Clear Current Printer Data?".

  3. Press Yes to clear the data. Press No to retain the data.

Rear View Camera

If installed, the Rear View Camera allows the operator to use the Information Display to view current activity behind the machine.

To enhance the safety around the machine, the Information Display will provide a visual and audible indication when radar detects an object.

Note: The Cat® Object Detection System does not have to be installed.
