This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS46011" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The existing bearing Resistive Temperature Device (RTD) harness will need to be replaced with a shielded harness on certain 3512B, 3516C, C175-16, and C175-20 Generator Sets. This harness is being replaced in order to reduce the chance of electrical noise on the RTD wiring.

The user should ensure that the product will not be damaged and that the product will not be made unsafe by the operation, lubrication, maintenance, or the repair procedures that are used.
WARNING: The generator set must be isolated mechanically and electrically before and while the rework is performed. Follow the proper lockout tag out procedures to protect against the unexpected energizing or startup of the generator set. Failure to follow these warnings could result in injury to personnel during service. Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag to the machine start switch or the controls before you perform any service to the machine.

1. Locate the RTD module located in the generator enclosure. Once located, find the 40 pin Deutsch connection that goes into the RTD module. Using Image 1.2.1 find channels 7 and 8 for the wiring associated with the bearing RTDs.

2. Replace the bearing RTD wiring with shielded cable 134-6258. Two cables runs will need to be made, one for channel 7 and one for channel 8.

In order to make the connections for channel 7 and 8, you will need to remove the current sockets from the bearing RTD Deutsch connector shown in Image 1.3.1 (may appear differently depending on the generator model) and replace with the connection points utilizing shielded cable. Please note the shield will not be used at this connection point only at the RTD module as discussed in step 3.

3. When replacing the associated wiring with the shielded cable use sockets 9X-3402. Please note the ?shield? for the shielded cable only needs to be connected at the RTD Deutsch connector (shield location 30 for channel 7; shield location 40 for channel 8), again no need to connect the shield at the RTD connection. Use Image 1.4.1 as a reference for the connections.
