Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Position the final drive so that filler plug (1) will be horizontal to the ground. Plug (2) will be at the bottom.

- Remove the two plugs. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. The capacity of each final drive is 0.9 L (0.24 US gal).
- Clean drain plug (2) and install drain plug (2) .
- Add oil through the opening for filler plug (1) until the level at the bottom of the opening is reached.
- Clean filler plug (1) and install plug (1) .
- Repeat Steps 1 to 5 for the other tracks.
