Track Tension - Check/Adjust

Usage:

PM-200 P1C

------ WARNING! ------

Grease is under high pressure.

Grease coming out of the relief valve under pressure can penetrate the body causing injury or death.

Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened.

Loosen the relief valve only one turn.

Note: In order to check the track tension, use grease pump (1) supplied in the toolbox kit that is prepared to do this maintenance.

  1. Connect a M10x1 - M1/4 inch BSP nipple (2) to grease pump (1) .

  1. Connect a female 1/4 inch BSP T-joint (3) to nipple (2) .

  1. Install a 1/4 inch BSP (4) pressure gauge 25000 kPa (3626 psi) to the T-joint (3) .

  1. Connect a 1/4 inch BSP male - M10x1 female (5) reduction to the T-joint (3) .

  1. Connect the grease tube with joint (6) to grease pump.

  1. Connect the grease pump to the tensioning unit fitting (7) .

  1. Apply slight pressure to pump (1) to open the check valve in the grease fitting and read the pressure on gauge (4). The correct pressure must be 3000 ± 500 kPa (435.12 ± 72.5 psi). If necessary, add grease until the correct pressure is visible on gauge (4) .

    Note: If the pressure is greater than 3500 kPa (507.64 psi), loosen the tensioning unit fitting (7) three full turns counterclockwise to permit the grease to escape from the tensioning unit.

  1. Loosen the fitting (7). Do not exceed three full turns. Allow a minimum quantity of grease to escape from the system to be sure that there is no trapped air.

  1. Tighten and clean the fitting (7) .

  1. Pump grease into fitting (7) until the correct pressure is visible on gauge (4) .
