Usage:
3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines
Description of Change: A new magnetic speed sensor with an improved design is used. The new magnetic speed sensor has a solid metal case over the sensing end to prevent the core from contacting the chopper wheel (the retainer on the fuel pump camshaft). Previously, the sensor core could come loose from the case. This allowed the sensing element to come in contact with the chopper wheel and cause the sensor to fail.
Adaptable To: The new 9X9655 Magnetic Sensor is a direct replacement for the former 6T6975 Magnetic Sensor (canceled) used in the improved 4W9599 Control And Housing Group. It is also a direct replacement for the 9X6844 Magnetic Sensor (canceled) used in certain 3406B (8TC10750-11150) PEEC Truck Engines. This change is effective with 3406B (8TC12737, 5YG1) PEEC Truck Engines, and is adaptable to first production.
