Usage:
Generator Bearing Removal And Installation
1. Remove the belts and belt guard, and the pulley.
2. Remove the screens (3) covering the inspection openings.
3. Support the brush yoke by hand and remove the bolts (4) securing the yoke to the rear cover plate (5).

4. Remove the bolts (2) which secure the rear cover (1) to the generator and insert a piece of cardboard between the rotating field and the armature to prevent damage when removing the rear cover.
5. Attach a suitable hoist and install two puller screws (6) as illustrated. Using the puller screws, force the rear cover off and remove from the generator.

7. Remove the bearing (10) from the shaft (11) with a 1H3110 Bearing Pulling Attachment, a 1H3107 Push Puller, two 939B Legs, an 8B7561 Step Plate and the 6F25 Caterpillar Service Press.
NOTE: Use two 1 1/8 in. (28.6 mm) diameter spacers (9) 2 1/2 in. (63.5 mm) long, to provide clearance for the puller bolts.
8. Inspect all parts for damage or wear and install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Heat the bearing in oil and install with the shielded side toward the field poles.

9. Lubricate the bearing according to the Operation and Maintenance Instructions.
